Quality is a highly important feature in women tennis shoes. It ensures that you are wearing the right equipment for the sport. All too many people overlook the importance of their footwear when it is not a part of a team sport uniform.

The truth is, though, that women tennis shoes must be of a certain quality not only to provide the features that you need in order to properly perform, but also to prevent injury. Among the most common injuries experienced by tennis players is a twisted ankle. When you buy shoes that are sturdy and stable, you minimize the chances that this type of injury will occur, because your feet will have more stability in your movements, and there will be less strain on the joint.

The reason that many people hesitate to purchase quality women tennis shoes is that they don’t realize their importance to the game, and when they see their price tag, they don’t believe them to be worth the cost. This is because these products are generally more expensive than other types of athletic shoes such as runners or cross trainers.

I'm not sure if the New York Knicks have all the pieces in place right now, but by adding Carmelo Anthony they are certainly one big step closer to being a NBA championship contender. Although considering the mismanagement over the last 10 years it's heard to believe they won't mess this up too.

Watch for the Knicks to make some strong stragetic moves during this off season to sure things up and make them a true Eastern conference powerhouse.

New York NY Direct TV can bring you all the Knicks action you want.

Two cities that produce NBA Eastern Conference contenders also have the two teams that are favored to win the Super Bowl as the NFL playoffs are set to begin this weekend.

NBA spread betting experts might recognize that Atlanta and Boston produce two East contenders and with the Falcons and Patriots, both cities have the Super Bowl XLV juggernauts as well.

Just as in the NBA’s East, Atlanta’s team is viewed with an eye of pessimism. The Falcons had a great regular season but don’t have a ton of playoff experience. They’re a young squad that is gaining it on the fly.

Meanwhile, Boston’s team - just like in the NBA – is experienced, savvy and has done it before. The Patriots are the odds-on favorites to do it all and considering they’ve won it three times this decade, why bet against them?

Basketball betting is not quite as common as betting on some other sports, but if you do your research, take your time and keep accurate records, there’s no reason you can’t be as successful at betting on basketball as betting on anything else. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Top Basketball Betting Tip: NCAA vs. NBA

Of course you are welcome to bet both college and pro basketball (including the WNBA), like placing your bets in online video poker games, you need to be aware that each type of basketball may have very different factors in play. In college basketball, every game counts, whereas pro teams can afford to drop a few games here and there and still have a great shot at the championship. There may be a much larger disparity between two competing college teams. Know the league you’re betting.

I really like the direction this team is going but I'm not so sure they can really be a contender in the East this year.  The East has gotten a lot stronger over the last few years and while I think they can make the playoffs I don't really see any chance that they can really beat The Magic, the Heat, the Celtics, of the Bulls.  And I'm skeptical they can even beat teams like the 76ers or the Hawks.

What do you think?

Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 major golf tournament victories is safe. Eldrick Woods will not catch him.

There, I said it. I was going to say it after he missed the cut at the British Open. Y.E. Yang's takedown of Eldrick at the PGA Championship on Sunday (The Win and the Yang? Choking Tiger, Hidden Dragon?) leaves no doubt in my mind.

Eldrick is finished.

At least as far as the all-time majors winner is concerned. Notice how I call him, "Eldrick?" That's because he's no longer the Tiger Woods that stormed to 14 majors by the age of 32.

Here are the top five reasons why "Eldrick" has replaced "Tiger" and will fall short of the still-Golden Bear.

No. 5: Fatherhood. Knowing Eldrick as well as I do ...  ... just waiting for the laughter ...I get the impression he's not a bad guy. He's never been accused of shooting himself in the leg at a club, making it rain at a strip club, taking female hormones, mistreating animals of any kind, doing anything improper in restaurants with patrons or in hotel rooms with hotel personnel. All he's done is curse ... and perhaps pass gas.

Psst -- looking for the inside scoop and juicy details about Lobo football?

Well, good luck with that! In the meantime, four guys -- who rightly or wrongly probably consider themselves experts on the University of New Mexico program -- crammed into Van Tate's KRQE-TV workplace in Albuquerque to talk about first-year coach Mike Locksley and the gang.

Oh, and I was there, too.

It's Van Tate's online series, "The Sports Office," and the KRQE sports staff invited the Team's Bob Brown (radio host on 101.7 FM, again, Albuquerque) and me to give us our "insights" on the upcoming season.

One little nugget from that chat: Bob shares his workout regimen with 12-ounce curls.

Anyway, check out what we all had to say by clicking on the KRQE link and enjoy! And thanks to Van for inviting me. I love talking sports -- but there's probably a reason why I WRITE about sports, where I can think about what I'm going to write before I do it.

Why aren't the Knicks doing something to better themselves this offseason?

Seriously.

The organization is so far up their butts looking into the 2010 season that they seem to care less about what is going on this year. Sure, they might be making all the right moves to give LeBron James the most money that is available to a player, but regardless of money, why would James leave when he won't have very many options around him.

He wants money, but more than anything, he wants a ring. And if he wins the 2009 NBA Championship, you better believe that he will not be leaving Cleveland.

Then what? Project LeBron becomes a failure. Tracy McGrady? I'm sure he would love to play in New York, but at the stage of his career, he wants a ring. Plus, didn't he flirt with the idea that he may retire once his contract is up?

As long as everyone else is throwing in their two cents about disgraced NFL quarterback Michael Vick's next career move, I thought I should chime in because the answer is just common sense.

Mike -- can I call you Mike? -- this is what you should do: Forget about a return to pro football for 2009 and contact dog whisperer Cesar Millan about becoming his sidekick.

Seriously.

It's evident by the latest unconfirmed internet reports that Vick, the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback went to a Virginia Beach (Va.) strip club just hours after he completed a 23-month sentence for operating a dogfighting ring, that he's still too much of a hot button for any NFL franchise to touch.

Leaving the morality issue out of attending a gentlemen's club, even if Vick did attend such an establishment, who cares? He's not Pac Man Jones. Vick's never been accused of making it rain with either money or bullets at a strip club. Billions of men frequent such places without incident.
